To be considered for this program, currently enrolled UConn students facing food insecurity can schedule an appointment with an Assistant Dean of Students or stop by during drop-in hours. Through a holistic conversation, the Assistant Dean and student will look at issues affecting the student and complete a needs assessment to determine if the student qualifies for the Swipes program. When a student qualifies, they are provided a block of 25 meals to use in any of the UConn Dining Halls and the meals are added that day. The meeting will include referrals to other appropriate resources as well to help in the long term.
