The Dean of Students Advisory Group consults with Eleanor JB Daugherty, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students on issues and initiatives that impact the student body. We're always looking for new and committed members.  If you are interested, please email below.

Short Term Emergency Loan (STELF)

Loans are available to Storrs undergraduate degree seeking students.

The loan must be for school related expenses and
cannot be used to pay a balance owed to the University.

STELF Information

All loans must be repaid by the end of the semester in which it was requested.

Students with an active Bursar hold are not eligible for a STELF loan.

Students First Fund

When a student is facing an unexpected crisis, we may be able to financially support through a Students First Fund grant.

Drop-in Hours: Mon - Fri, 1:00-3:30pm: Students must sign in by 3:30pm to be seen on that day.

UConn Swipes

The Swipe Out Hunger Program aims to provide students who are food insecure, and/or who are experiencing an emergency situation, access to healthy and well-balanced meals in our campus dining halls.

Currently enrolled UConn students can talk to the Dean of Students Office to determine eligibility for this program.

Drop-in hours: Monday - Friday, 1:00pm - 3:30pm

Students wishing to be seen during drop-in hours must be signed in at or before 3:30pm.  Students who arrive for drop-in hours after 3:30pm are welcome to schedule an appointment with an Assistant Dean for a later day and time.

To schedule an appointment outside of drop-in hours please call us at 860-486-3426.

Our staff can assist students in problem solving, navigating university policies and processes, and referring students to other helpful resources both on and off campus.
