Life happens and things change, if you need to leave the University be sure you reach out to the Dean of Students Office (Storrs) or the Regional Student Services Office (Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury) with questions.
Students who leave must take action to complete the process to ensure they have properly separated from UConn which will take you out of classes and adjust your fee bill as appropriate. Once the process is finalized, you will receive an email.
UConn has two categories in which students leave; Withdrawal or Cancellation.
You will not complete the current semester in progress and do not intend to return to UConn.
Steps to Take:
- Call or come in to the office
- Must speak with an Assistant Dean or Regional Student Services staff member to review the checklist and complete the process
You do not plan to return for the next semester.
Available Nov 1 - day before classes for spring and April 1 - day before classes for fall.
Leave of Absence
ELIGIBILITY FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE:
Once you complete either a withdrawal or cancellation, if you are in good academic standing and intend to return to UConn, your leave can be documented as a Leave of Absence (by request and with a declared return term).
